User Agreement

1. Service and eligibility

Game Controller is an iPhone and iPad utility for controlling compatible Roku streaming players and Roku TVs over a local network. Features may include device discovery, manual local IP connection, button controls, touchpad gestures, installed-channel display, channel favorites, channel launch requests, haptic feedback, and a game-control layout.

You must be legally capable of entering into this Agreement. If you are below the age of majority where you live, a parent or guardian must review and accept this Agreement and supervise your use.

The app does not provide streaming subscriptions, channel content, screen mirroring, casting, or a guarantee that a missing channel can be installed or opened in the Roku store.

2. Limited license

Subject to this Agreement and the applicable App Store rules, we grant you a limited, personal, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and non-sublicensable license to install and use Game Controller on Apple-branded products that you own or control, as permitted by Apple's usage rules and Family Sharing or volume purchasing terms where applicable.

You may not copy, rent, lease, sell, sublicense, distribute, publicly host, modify, create derivative works from, bypass technical protections in, reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code from the app except to the limited extent such restriction is prohibited by law or an applicable open-source license.

3. Network and device requirements

Game Controller generally requires the iPhone or iPad and Roku to be reachable on the same local network. Operation may depend on iOS Local Network permission, Wi-Fi configuration, router isolation rules, VPN or firewall settings, Roku model, Roku OS version, device power state, and the Roku setting that permits control by mobile apps.

You are responsible for the network, Apple device, Roku device, display, and third-party services you use. Features may be unavailable on guest networks, restricted networks, older devices, unsupported televisions, or after changes made by Apple, Roku, a router vendor, or a channel provider.

Test important controls before relying on the app. Game Controller is not an emergency control system, safety system, accessibility guarantee, or replacement for keeping a working physical remote where one is necessary.

4. Remote commands and your responsibility

Game Controller sends the button presses, gestures, channel requests, and game input you initiate to the Roku you selected. You are responsible for selecting the correct device and for the results of commands sent from your phone or tablet.

Do not use the app to interfere with a device without authorization. Anyone with access to your unlocked iPhone or iPad and local network may be able to use the app to control the selected Roku. Secure your devices and network appropriately.

Command timing, repeat behavior, responsiveness, and availability can vary with network conditions and device performance. A command may be delayed, ignored, repeated, or rejected by the Roku.

5. Installed channels, favorites, and third-party content

The Channels screen displays information made available by the connected Roku, such as channel names, identifiers, and artwork. Favorites are convenience shortcuts stored by Game Controller on your device. A favorite does not mean the channel is endorsed, available, installed, licensed, or free.

Channel installation, availability, search, launch behavior, content, subscriptions, authentication, advertising, pricing, regional restrictions, and service quality are controlled by Roku and channel providers. Game Controller cannot guarantee that a channel will launch, remain available, or open a store page when it is not installed.

Third-party names, logos, and artwork belong to their respective owners and are shown only to identify content or apps reported by the connected device.

6. Game controls

Game mode provides a joystick-style movement area and quick actions for supported interactions. Support depends on the active Roku application, the integration exposed by that application, network latency, and the Roku model. Game mode may fall back to Roku menu navigation when compatible game input is not active.

Game Controller does not guarantee competitive performance, continuous input delivery, diagonal movement in every game, or compatibility with games that do not implement the expected control interface. Use the standard remote when a game or menu does not respond as expected.

7. Advertising and privacy choices

Game Controller is supported by advertising and may display banner, interstitial, and app-open ads. Advertising frequency, format, availability, and content may change. Ads are provided through Google Mobile Ads and related partners.

The app may request consent or Apple's App Tracking Transparency permission where required. Refusing tracking does not remove advertisements; it may limit personalization. Advertising and privacy processing are described in the Privacy Policy.

You must not click advertisements fraudulently, generate invalid traffic, interfere with ad delivery, or use automation to manipulate advertising measurements.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• use the app unlawfully, fraudulently, maliciously, or to violate another person's rights;
• control, probe, disrupt, or access a Roku, network, or service without permission;
• circumvent security, privacy, consent, advertising, rate-limit, or access-control mechanisms;
• introduce malware, excessive traffic, automated commands, or other harmful code or behavior;
• misrepresent affiliation with Game Controller, Apple, Roku, Google, or a channel provider; or
• use the app in a way that damages, disables, overloads, or impairs the Service or another user's device.

9. Intellectual property

Game Controller's software, interface, website, original graphics, text, and related materials are protected by applicable intellectual property laws and belong to their respective rights holders. No ownership rights are transferred to you.

Apple, iPhone, iPad, App Store, Google, Google Mobile Ads, Roku, Roku TV, and third-party channel names and marks belong to their respective owners. References are descriptive and do not imply sponsorship or endorsement.

If you believe the app or website infringes intellectual property rights, use the Feedback option in Game Controller Settings and provide enough information for the claim to be reviewed.

10. Disclaimers

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Game Controller is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, statutory, or otherwise. We disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, quiet enjoyment, accuracy, availability, and compatibility.

We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, compatible with every Roku or television, accepted by every network, or able to perform every command. We do not control Apple, Roku, Google, routers, internet providers, channel publishers, or advertising content.

Some jurisdictions do not allow certain warranty exclusions. In those jurisdictions, exclusions apply only to the extent permitted by law, and you may have mandatory consumer rights that are not affected by this Agreement.

11. Limitation of liability and indemnity

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we and our suppliers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of use, data, goodwill, revenue, opportunities, subscriptions, or content arising from the app, even if advised of the possibility.

Where liability cannot be excluded, total liability arising from or relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid specifically for the app during the twelve months before the event giving rise to the claim or the minimum amount required by applicable law.

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the app provider from claims, losses, liabilities, and reasonable costs arising from your unlawful use, unauthorized device control, violation of this Agreement, or infringement of another person's rights, except to the extent prohibited by law.

12. Suspension, termination, and changes

You may stop using the Service and uninstall the app at any time. We may suspend or terminate access to the extent technically available if you materially violate this Agreement, misuse the Service, create security or legal risk, or if continued operation is no longer reasonably possible.

Features may be added, changed, limited, or removed to improve reliability, comply with law, respond to platform changes, or maintain the Service. We may update this Agreement by posting a revised version and changing the date above. Material changes may also be communicated in the app or App Store listing where appropriate.

If a provision is unenforceable, it will be limited or removed to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions continue in effect. Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. This Agreement and the Privacy Policy form the entire agreement about the Service, together with mandatory App Store terms.

13. Apple App Store terms

If you obtained Game Controller through Apple's App Store, you acknowledge and agree that:

• this Agreement is between you and the Game Controller provider, not Apple, and the provider is solely responsible for the app and its content;
• Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for the app;
• if the app fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple may refund the purchase price, if any, as required by App Store rules; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation;
• the provider, not Apple, is responsible for addressing claims relating to the app, including product liability, legal compliance, and consumer-protection claims;
• the provider, not Apple, is responsible for investigating and resolving third-party intellectual property claims concerning the app;
• you represent that you are not located in a country subject to a United States government embargo and are not listed on a United States government prohibited or restricted parties list;
• you must comply with applicable third-party terms, including network and Roku terms, when using the app; and
• Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of this Agreement and may enforce these App Store terms against you.

Apple's Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement applies where required and can be reviewed at Apple's Standard EULA.

14. Independent application notice and contact

Game Controller is an independent application. It is not an official Roku product and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, authorized by, or sponsored by Roku, Inc. Roku may change or restrict device interfaces, settings, commands, channel behavior, or mobile-control policies at any time.
